A Cleaner Lifestyle Part 1: Skincare + review

Throughout my wedding journey I have taken this opportunity to become a happier, healthier me. I am really getting back to basics with my health, lifestyle and diet. I thought I owed it to myself to become more conscious of what I was putting in and on my body and this is where my journey began. This post is Part 1 ! I have followed Nourished Life on Instagram for a while now and I decided it was time to take the plunge and order some of the natural and vegan products they had to offer. I want to look the best and feel my best on my wedding day and I started my lifestyle changes with what I was putting on my skin on a daily basis. I decided to order The Black Chicken Remedies Axilla deoderant paste which had great reviews. I wanted to have something with no aluminium, no alcohol and no paragons or chemicals and also something that could last me all day without reapplying. This was the BEST. DECISION. EVER. I love the deodorant because it makes you smell …

Attitudes & Expectations in Career Progression

After reading an article about this generations attitude towards work, reality and general expectation featured on the Business Insider (Click to Read Here)  made me realise a different perspective of my generation and working toward a career goal. I realised that while some people in my generation have a despicable ethic towards work and carry their false sense of entitlement there is also the other side of the coin.

Taking a Leap

I have been extremely quiet on the blog as of late, this has been a combination of a lack of creativity and trying to focus my energy on finding opportunities in my work life. So a holiday in Melbourne with my fiancé to attend some family events turned into me missing my flight to New Zealand and starting a job.

Stop and Think: Personal Reflection

A lot has been going on in the last couple of months. I have been crazy quiet on the blog, blogging is more a hobby than something serious and life has got in the way. Between my last proper post on the blog and now, so many exciting and wonderful things have happened in my life. Today I am writing this post to stop and reflect on my achievements and milestones in this time.

Get It Girl Fashion Ideas

Get it Girl! Fashion ideas for Autumn / Winter 2015

A new season, a new colour palette, a new trend. I am so excited for the autumn and winter months. Not because it cold and blustery weather, but because I love wearing scarves, layers and pants. I’m so in love with ponchos and capes which are definitely on trend this season, especially the more structured style of cape that has been featured in many runway shows lately. I am not the most fashion conscious person in the world but I make sure i have loads of essential pieces such as plain long tops, tights and cardis that can be mixed and matched in heaps of different ways. Layering for me is the most important tool to stay warm and look great during the colder months. This post I have looked at statement pieces, essentials and accessories to brighten up the dull winter months. I have created three different looks that can be rocked in different places. I have used a combination of my personal style and some current seasonal trends that are coming through on …

#brunchclub Wellington Meetup February

The Blogging community in New Zealand is a tight knit community of girls and boys that help each other out, read each others blogs and share the bucket loads of knowledge about everything blog. So when I heard that there was a #brunchclub brunch scheduled to go down in Wellington I just knew I had to go. I scooped up a ticket and it came around fast by gosh I was so excited and nervous being the first on I had attended.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day 2015 Gifts for Him & Her

Valentines Day, the one day people hate, loath or enjoy ! For me it is a bit of both and being generally crap at gift giving my other half is either surprised completely (fluke) or  possibly underwhelmed. V Day the day where both halves of a new relationship are trying to get a non- awkward gift for each other that isn’t to creepy and for seasoned couples who aren’t sure if they should bother or not. Then theres the other side of Valentines Day where singles either cry into their wine and eat chocolate while cuddling up on the couch with their cat, or really simply don’t care. But no matter what everyone needs adorable love themed gifts and no matter if you have left it to the last minute I have complied some sure fire gift ideas for HIM and HER.

Plantae Certified Organic Skincare

Plantae Certified Organic Skincare Roundup

Plantae organic skincare range has slowly become my holy grail skincare brand over the summer period. I have been fortunate enough to have been sent some great products from the team at Bare PR and Plantae. I have already written a previous review of Plantae’s Hydrating Essential Rose Water a must have summer essential and since then I have been taking my time to try the eye cream, cleanser and day cream of the same range. I decided to take at least few weeks to try the products so I could accurately note how they affected my skin positively or negatively. A common mistake with people trying skincare is they don’t give themselves long enough to gauge the benefits and changes that different products can have. Ever since my battle with skin problems I never thought I would find something as calming nourishing and hydrating as the Plantae skincare range. Going natural in 2014 was my last ditched attempt at getting great skin and after trying a vast majority of skincare both prescription and pharmacy strength I …

2015 Goal Planning: How NOT to be a 2-Week Wonder

2015 has come around fast and January has flown by. As my 5 weeks of fantastic summer bliss in the Coromandel have come to an end I thought I would write about my goals and aspirations for this year. Feeling recharged, inspired and energised, I have left this post for so long not because I think it’s important to think really seriously about goals and what you want to succeed. Personally I didn’t want to rush setting my goals, the famous New Years resolutions that leave us falling into the embarrassing category of the 2-week wonders.

An Interview with Vanisha of @vanishalifeunstyled !

I first discovered Vanisha after coming across her vibrant Instagram @vanishalifeunstyled it’s filled with gorgeous images of her style, travel, food, books and tropical adventures. Vanisha leads a busy lifestyle, is torn between two countries, and is an all action kind of girl. I was naturally intrigued by her energy and I was curious to know more about the sophisticated lady behind the photos. I talked to the lovely Vanisha about life, work and travel.

harris and co blog sorry not sorry

Opinion: Why we should NEVER be sorry

Trawling through social media and online forums and groups it is all to common for me to find girls apologising for their appearance. This has been a slow to rise topic in the year of 2014 with feminism and equal rights for both sexes being talked about at the UN and in other high profile situations. For me this is not OK. I don’t believe it is right that woman don’t stand up for themselves when saying something. By apologising we are not being affirmative, strong and it totally lessens the effect of the statement. It is a conditioned defence mechanism of the 21st century and it needs to stop.
